Despite the bleak economic climate, a leading UK business whose roots started in the North West continues to go from strength to strength. Carcraft, the UK’s leading used car hypermarket established in Rochdale in the 1950s, has this week opened a brand new location in the prestigious setting of Manchester’s Trafford Centre.

The business already owns a nationwide network of showrooms, stretching from Birtley, near Newcastle in the North East to London in the South. Its brand new ‘Carcraft Outlet’ in the Trafford Centre marks the latest chapter in the company’s long, successful and proud history.

Serving car-buyers since 1951, Carcraft has grown from a single forecourt to an impressive eleven showrooms. The new Trafford Centre site offers customers a choice of over 350 cars from more than 40 manufacturers, including all the most popular makes and models. Its General Manager, Derek Boaler, has worked for the company for over 10 years.

“We’re delighted to be part of such an important development in the North West” said Mike Walsh, Director. “With some of the country’s biggest and best known brands already in residence at the Trafford Centre, we’re in good company!”

Situated appropriately alongside Asda, the new showroom aims to bring the best value, choice and service to car buyers visiting the celebrated shopping centre. Customers will also be able to access Carcraft’s Group stock of over 4,000 cars too, ensuring North West motorists can choose from an unbeatable range of top quality nearly new and used vehicles. The new location is open 7 days a week until 9pm on most nights, complete with a floodlit forecourt for ease of car viewing. Customers are welcome to browse at their leisure and test drive as many cars as they like. With a wide range of ways to pay too, this new showroom really does provide a one stop shop for car buyers alongside the well renowned Trafford Centre.

Job seekers in the area have benefited to with the new Carcraft Outlet having recruited 50 new staff from the region bringing its total number of employees across the UK to over 800.

As the car industry suffers elsewhere, it’s great to see a local business moving up yet another gear in such tough times.
