Time running out for scrappage savers

1st September 2009 Print
Motors.co.uk, one of the leading used car websites in the UK is calling for motorists to take advantage of the Government’s scrappage scheme before it’s too late.

With the new ‘59’ plate launching (today) 1st September, motors.co.uk is urging car buyers to take advantage of the discount which sees a reduction of £2,000 off the price off a selected new car.

Motors.co.uk has over 15,500 new car deals available on the site, over four times more than any other site. This is on top of over 150,000 used cars making motors.co.uk the best place for motorists to find their next car.

Since the Government’s £300m scrappage scheme was introduced in May this year, around 155,000 people have taken advantage of the discounts available. However, the Government has only allocated £300m which could run out as early as October this year.

Katie Armitage, Marketing Manager at motors.co.uk said: “The scrappage scheme has seen an uplift in new car sales, in fact July saw a rise in new car sales for the first time in over a year. With the new plate being introduced in September and limited scrappage funds available, the time has never been better to search for a new car on motors.co.uk

“With the largest choice of new cars online, as well as a host of other features such as buying advice and free history checks on used cars, motors.co.uk is the ideal place for buyers to find their next car.”
