Bareboat sailing in Turkey and Croatia

New for 2008 Sunvil Sailing will be offering bareboat charter in Turkey and Greece for those with sailing experience from April to November in addition to its operation in Greece. There is also the option of a second week at a hotel in both the new destinations.

The Turkish programme will operate from the modern marina at Yalikavak which is set within a dramatic landscape around 10 miles from Bodrum and just 23 miles from Bodrum airport. Holidaymakers will be able to cruise the long chain of picturesque Greek Dodecanese islands which hug the Turkish coastline and include Kos, just three miles from the marina, the volcanic island of Nisyros and picturesque Simi.

A fleet of modern yachts and catamarans is on offer through Sunvil’s partner, Broadblue Charters, ranging from a Beneteau Oceanis 321 at £1,070 per week up to an Oceanis Clipper 473, while the catamarans range from a 38 up to 435 starting at £1,540pw. For an optional second week ashore holidaymakers can choose from the small, elegant 4Reasons Hotel or the Princess Artemisia, which has acres of tropical gardens and a 100metre long private beach in Yalikavak bay.

In Croatia Sunvil’s partner is Navigare Yachting Adria whose yachts are based in the new marina at Kastela village, about 15 minutes transfer from Split airport on the Central Dalmatian Coast. The cruising area takes in the Kornati Islands to the north which encompass the Krka National Park with its spectacular waterfalls; and south to Dubrovnik which can be reached in a few leisurely days. Also nearby are numerous islands such as Brac, Solta, Hvar and Vis. For those planning to stay a further week ashore, Sunvil are recommending the new, luxury five-star Atrium Hotel at Split.

Yacht charter prices are from £830 per week for a Bavaria 37 and £2,990 for a Lagoon 440 Catamaran.

Greece Learn to Sail, Flotilla, Bareboat and Villa-Flotilla
Sunvil Sailing also run yachting holidays off Lefkas island in the Greek Ionian Sea with either live-aboard or shore-based accommodation. They specialise in learn-to-sail weeks with certification but also offer flotilla, bareboat charter, individually tailored villa-flotilla packages and day boat hire. The Greek sailing holidays run from late April to late October with special share-a-yacht ‘pot-luck’ weeks early and late season; these are ideal for singles and parties too small to hire their own yacht.
