Female Power Revvs Up For The British Motor Show
Female power is revving up for the all new British International Motor Show as manufacturers chase women buyers.Women influence 85 per cent of retail purchases and they are sure to get the red carpet treatment at the British International Show which opens on 20 July.
"The days of motor shows being dominated by blokes in bad anoraks has long gone. The opinions of female car fans are now crucial to the motor trade," said Lesley Jones, editor of evecars.com, which has a stand at the show dedicated to guiding women through the maze of new cars on the market promoting women’s interests.
"We are offering female buyers advice without the patronising twaddle lots of so called ‘experts’ love to use when explaining what makes a car a great buy. We know this will strike a chord with women at the show, whether they are fanatical about cars or just going along for the ride with the petrolhead in their lives."
The show, which runs until 30 July at ExCeL in London’s Docklands, promises a feast of entertainment for women including the latest cabriolet and sleek sports cars. One of the prime attractions will be the £67,495 Jaguar XKR which is bound to appeal to both men and women and was this year voted evecars.com’s most exciting launch.
"Women are a major force in motoring and anyone who pretends they can sell cars solely by concentrating on the male consumer will lose out big time," added Lesley Jones.
