MSN creates virtual online British International Motor Show experience
The British International Motor Show 2006 opens its doors to the public, with a special public preview day at 4pm today, and its first full public day tomorrow (Wednesday July 20). For the first time in 30 years the biggest motoring event in Britain is back in London with even more exciting cars, a whole new look and lots more new experiences. And for those who can’t make it down to the show or wants to see more once they’ve left, MSN UK is providing online coverage of the entire event. Its online experience runs from 18th to 30th July and can be found at http://cars.uk.msn.com/britishmotorshow
MSN has created an innovative website for its coverage including the latest news from the show, steamed live video footage, photo galleries and reviews.
In addition, MSN has built a special microsite within its Motor Show site featuring a showcase for the cars of its site sponsor, Vauxhall. Users will have access to streamed live video of nine Vauxhall cars - including the world premiere of the new Corsa, its top-selling supermini, the stunning new Astra TwinTop and the thrilling VXR Range, as well as an incredible interactive stand that zooms in from space, down into London and the ExCel centre in London’s Docklands where the show is taking place.
"I am enormously excited by this year’s British Motor Show," says Tom Evans, content manager of MSN Cars UK. "It’s going to be a terrific event, with lots to see and do for anyone who loves cars and even for those who don’t! MSN Cars will be covering it in full with the aim of creating the best and most up-to-date internet coverage of the show available anywhere. I hope as many people as possible can come to the show, but if they can’t, visiting the MSN Cars Motor Show website will be the next best thing."
MSN Cars, launched into a fresh new look last month, offers users a more accessible site suitable for everyone from the car-obsessive to the motoring beginner who are looking for a one-stop information service for their needs. The new Vehicle Information Pages (VIP) offers help to users looking to buy a new car, showing side-by-side comparisons of new and used cars, simply and straightforward.
