International Property Agents is First for Customer First!

An interesting twist in the on-going ‘customer service in the overseas property industry’ debate – real estate agent and developer International Property Agents has been awarded the coveted Customer First Standard, and is the first property company to achieve it.

Customer First is the national standard for customer service, ensuring businesses and organisations offer a consistently high level of quality customer service.

“We’ve won several accreditations and awards since we established International Property Agents two years ago, but this probably means the most to us,” says Marketing Director, Gordon Lyons.

“Putting the customer first and striving to improve the customer experience has always been at the heart of what we do, it’s what sets us apart. We’re absolutely delighted to become the first property company in the country to reach the required standard” adds Gordon.

North West-based International Property Agents was established in 2005 by directors Gordon and Janice Lyons and Koray and Eray Sunbul.

“We all had experience in overseas property and wanted to develop a company which, unlike many others in the overseas property industry, offered excellent customer service throughout the whole process of choosing, purchasing and owning an overseas property, which is how we came to form International Property Agents” says Koray.

To gain Customer First status, International Property Agents had to demonstrate that customer service is a fundamental element of the business operation.

“It’s a demanding standard and rightly so. There’s no point winning an award if it doesn’t mean anything. The award reflects on the quality of customer service our employees provide and the ethos of the whole company,” adds Koray.

“The overseas property industry has been dogged by bad press generated by horror stories of companies who have been solely motivated by sales targets. Our approach has always been different; right from day one we’ve put the customer first.

“We recognise that buying property overseas is a huge decision for most people. We don’t pressure potential buyers and we ensure they have all the right information and advice before going ahead with a purchase. We also do everything in our power to ensure the entire process is as smooth and simple as possible.

“The Customer First Standard shows that not all overseas property agents and developers are riddled with bad sales practises and techniques – there are honest agents and developers out there who will listen to your needs and offer appropriate properties and property services accordingly” adds Koray.
