South Africa's house prices increase by 351% over the last 10 years

31st October 2007 Print
South Africa has often been referred to as a ‘sleeping giant’ and if the increases in property prices over the last 10 years is anything to go by (351% increase) then this giant is certainly stirring.

Lloyd Cornwall, Director of Pin High Property says, “South Africa is coming of age. The last 10 years have played a major part in shaping its future and now South Africa is in a strong position to become a major player in the international arena. South Africa is the ‘next big thing’ in terms of investment. With huge natural resources an ever growing economy and stock markets performing well, it is becoming more attractive to investors each day. The property market has been one of the biggest performers and despite these huge growths over the last decade, South Africa is still vastly under priced, therefore over the next decade we expect to see these prices come into line with the European markets, which means healthy profits for all who have invested into the property market.”

Pin High Property is currently marketing the Fijnbosch Estate in Eastern Cape which is located within St Francis Links golf course. Recognised as the Eastern Gateway to the Garden Route of South Africa, this gated community offers a selection of two, three and four bedroom lifestyle homes in a distinct neo-cape Dutch coastal design. There are just 200 properties over some 55 hectares, offering superb spacious accommodation and boasting superb views over the Jack Nicklaus signature golf course and the coastal region.

Lloyd continues, “Investors into Fijnbosch Estate are not just buying into a premier golf course development, they are buying into the lifestyle of St Francis Bay, which sits just 5 minutes away. This idyllic bay with its protected inlets and calm waters is a ‘picture postcard’ setting that offers superb amenities, but more importantly it offers a very warm welcome from the locals and the ex pats community.”

Property prices start from just £126,000 for a two bedroom detached property rising to £217,000 for a premier four bedroom. Each Fijnbosch Estate owner will receive free membership to the St Francis Links Golf Club worth £15,000, with members also enjoying reciprocity to other Nicklaus courses in South Africa.
