Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain

Porsche Carrera Cup GB racer Phil Quaife (Tonbridge) will take his Motorbase Performance Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car on to the streets of Edinburgh on the evening of Thursday 31 August.

Phil, who currently leads the Pro-Am category in the championship, will represent the Carrera Cup GB in ‘British Touring Cars Live: Edinburgh’.

The event will be a spectacular preview to the BTCC races at the Knockhill circuit in Fife over the weekend and is sure to attract thousands of people to an evening of live action in the heart of the famous city. The route for the demonstration runs will be along Johnson Terrace at the foot of the city’s famous castle.

"I've never driven on a street circuit before, so it will be quite an experience," says Quaife. "It should be a lot of fun and I'm really looking forward to it!"

Public admission will be free, and visitors will have the chance to look around the cars and meet the drivers in a special paddock on Castle Terrace. The event has attracted massive media coverage and a crowd up to 10,000 spectators is likely to see the action.
