Don’t miss Footman James’ beauty and the beast

Jaguar 420 With less than four weeks to go, Classic Motor Show sponsor, Footman James is preparing to stop the crowds in their tracks with a jaw-dropping stand display and the opportunity to win top prizes in their very own Price Right Challenge.

The flagship event in the classic calendar is hitting the NEC from 13-15 November and Footman James is finalising its display of ‘beauty and the beast’ classics as it prepares to welcome the 45,000 enthusiasts that are expected to flood through the doors over the three days.

Visitors to this year’s show will be able to win on-the-spot prizes in Footman James’ very own ‘Price Right Challenge’ competition, which is being held every afternoon on the Live Stage. A luxury weekend break to Forest of Dean retreat, The Speech House Hotel, a favourite with touring classic car owners, will be given away each day.

The 2009 Footman James stand will showcase some shocking examples of the sort of motoring mishap nightmares are made of, including that of an unfortunate 1968 Jaguar 420 which, having been involved in a serious accident, highlights just how important agreed value policies really are. The stand will also feature, in contrast, a pristine example of the same marque, purchased by Jaguar Drivers’ Club member Stephen Wright in 2006 for £6,800 and now valued/insured for £9,000 on an agreed value policy.

Paul Matthews, Footman James’ managing director, said: “With cost and value so high on everyone’s agenda at the moment, our agreed value insurance focus seemed very fitting.

“On our stand will be examples of classics which have encountered incidents that would bring many classics owners out in a cold sweat, but this also highlights just how important agreed value policies are for protecting the true value of a classic vehicle.”

Footman James’ agreed value policies take into account the true value of a vehicle as a classic. The car’s condition, heritage and history, as well as any restoration work carried out on it will be considered, whereas a standard insurance policy will only pay out the market value of a vehicle on the day the claim was made.

The Footman James team will be on the stand throughout the show to talk to enthusiasts about agreed value policies, as well as all the other insurance options they can offer.

Footman James’ policies include classic car, classic motorcycle, modern private car, modern motorcycle, taxi and home insurance.
