Pop-ups proliferate across Mayfair and Belgravia

12th October 2009 Print
Grosvenor has announced further pop-up projects, set to feature across its London estate, covering 300 acres of iconic Belgravia and Mayfair. Earlier this year, Grosvenor began a collaboration with ‘Eleven Fine Art’ to produce a series of pop-up art spaces in conjunction with the gallery.

Helen Franks, Grosvenor’s London Retail Leasing Director comments: “The trend for pop-up spaces continues to grow. As well as supporting some great brands it enables us to find new ways to enhance our exclusive retail neighbourhoods. The latest pop-up projects are very exciting and highlight the diverse retail offering across our London estate.”

The latest pop-ups see Grosvenor supporting a number of well known brands, including fashion designer Kinder Aggugini, menswear label Sunspel, and organic lifestyle company Daylesford Organic. Further pop-ups are planned for later this year.

Kinder Aggugini...

London based fashion designer Kinder Aggugini opened his pop-up shop during this year’s London Fashion Week around the corner from glamorous Mount Street, in the heart of Mayfair. Known as ‘new Mayfair’, Mount Street is one of London’s chicest destinations and home to luxurious brands including Balenciaga, Goyard, Stephen Webster and Marc Jacobs.

The Kinder Aggugini pop-up store will be open until 31 October 2009, from Thursday to Saturday. Lower Ground, 35 South Audley Street, Mayfair, London W1.

Sunspel…

Sunspel is one of British menswear’s best kept secrets, producing the finest cotton underwear and t-shirts since 1860. The pristine white t-shirt as modelled by Daniel Craig as the latest Bond is of course Sunspel, and they have a great line in woven boxer shorts too – used by designers such as Paul Smith, Margaret Howell and Richard James in their underwear ranges. Already familiar with the pop-up concept, having previously taken a space in Covent Garden, Sunspel realised the opportunity to try out a retail space on Davies Street, home to other iconic fashion brands such as Vivienne Westwood and Dunhill.

The Sunspel store popped-up at 10-12 Davies Street, Mayfair W1 in September and will be open until January 2010.

Bamford Bath & Body…

Bamford’s organic bath and body collection will showcase their latest range of pure, organic and botanic body products for men, women and baby at a pop-up store with a treatment room on Lowndes Street. This follows recent launches including Liberty of London and Barney’s New York. The residential-style space will reflect the essence of the Bamford lifestyle brand and will debut several new products.

The Bamford Bath & Body pop-up store will focus on their bath and body range is due to open on Monday 5th October at 14 Lowndes Street, Belgravia, London SW1.
