Persimmon welcomes Mayor of Redditch to Windsor Heights

When Persimmon Homes South Midlands launched its Windsor Heights development in Redditch in Spring this year, the company knew it would be popular among local people due to the variety of properties available.
Alison Reading, sales director for Persimmon Homes South Midlands, was thrilled the Mayor visited the development. She stated: “Due to a number of specific schemes on offer at the site we are seeing continual interest in our homes despite recent difficulties in the housing market, which is why we invited the Mayor to the site to gain further insight into our commitment to supporting Redditch househunters and boosting the housing market in general.”
Windsor Heights hosts a collection of two, three and four bedroom homes and Persimmon’s dedication the Government-led 70 per cent shared equity scheme means that purchasers are safe in the knowledge that they don’t have to raise a deposit to buy a brand new home and only have to find a mortgage for up to 70 per cent of the market price of the property and with prices starting from £95,896 through HomeBuy Direct, it’s easy to see why the initiative is proving popular.
Alison added: “Across the South Midlands region we have achieved 107 reservations through HomeBuy Direct and 30 of these alone have been from Windsor Heights, demonstrating how supportive the scheme is for Redditch buyers.”
On visiting the development Councillor Malcolm Hall, commented: “I found my visit to Windsor Heights to be very informative and it was extremely valuable to find out what is being done to assist several househunters who have been unable to purchase a brand new home on the open market.
“Shared equity schemes are imperative in this current market to enable homebuyers to gain that all important first step onto the property ladder and I’m delighted that it’s working so well in our borough.”
Alison concludes: “I’d like to thank Councillor Hall for his time and interest in our new homes in Redditch, his visit confirmed our commitment to supporting first time buyers in achieving home ownership, no matter what their personal circumstances or financial situation.”
