Walking in a winter wonderland

20th October 2009 Print

Winter walking in the Auvergne – complete with snowshoe and cross-country ski hire for snowy conditions – is the offer from specialist operator, Belle France.

The holidays are based in the tiny village of St Bonnet – high in the Massif Central – with mornings spent practising snowshoe and cross-country skiing in preparation for an afternoon of guided walks.

Hotel accommodation is in a converted convent school and meals – featuring regional dishes based around local produce – are served around a large table creating a houseparty atmosphere.

These seven-night holidays are on offer for Saturday arrivals throughout February, with independent travellers paying £599 per person (twin share) inclusive of half-board accommodation, ski and snowshoe hire and guided walking programme.

The above price takes into account the company’s early booking offer and applies to reservations made by 20 November.

UK travel is not included, but return channel crossings or rail tickets can be booked by the company on request.
