More choice for holidays in Canada and Alaska

Independent luxury tour operator, Prestige Holidays (prestigeholidays.co.uk) has launched its first brochure to Canada and Alaska featuring a diverse selection of holidays ranging from city breaks and self drive itineraries to wildlife tours, wilderness lodge stays and Alaska cruises.

 

Holidays lead in at just £675 per person for a Toronto city break including: return flights from London Heathrow with British Airways, three nights accommodation in the four star Metropolitan Hotel, a city sightseeing tour and a trip to the spectacular Niagara Falls including lunch and a ride on the famous “Maid of the Mist” boat.

 

For a more unusual short break option, Prestige Holidays is offering a four night luxury lodge experience from £2665 per person. This includes return flights from London Heathrow to Vancouver on British Airways, float plane transfer from Vancouver to the West Coast Wilderness Lodge located on the Sunshine Coast and from there to the Sonora Resort on Sonora Island plus float plane or helicopter transfer back to Vancouver.  Also included is full board accommodation at both lodges and use of the properties extensive facilities.

 

Prestige’s Canadian collection includes a choice of Alaska cruises on the Holland America and Regent Seven Seas Lines. Prices (excluding flights) lead in at £515 per person with Holland America based on twin share in a large inside category state room with all meals, port taxes and charges and onboard entertainment.

 

The brochure also features a number of special offers including: unlimited shore excursions in four ports of call on each of the Regent Seven Sea cruises, saving up to US$656 per person. Many hotels in the Canada and Alaska programme are offering reduced prices if holidays are booked before 31 March 2010.

 

A good selection of scenic rail tours are highlighted in the brochure including: Alaska by Rail, and trips by Via rail from Toronto to Vancouver, Jasper to Prince Rupert, Montreal to Halifax and the reverse journeys. Prestige is also selling two day trips on the renowned Rocky Mountaineer taking in the stunning scenery of British Columbia and Alberta.

 

The brochure’s self drive highlights include: the “Wildlife Adventure” in British Columbia.  Departing from Vancouver this tour has whale watching excursions in Victoria and Tofino and a thrilling float plane journey to the rustic wilderness Knight Inlet lodge with the chance to view grizzly bears in their natural habitat. The break leads in at £1,625 per person (excluding car hire) and includes return flights from London to Vancouver, eight nights accommodation in standard hotels, ferry costs, whale watching trips and full board at Inlet Lodge.

 

Another magnificent self drive journey is the Alberta “Western Wonders – Best of the West” tour though some the world’s most photographed landmarks - the national parks of the Canadian Rockies. This tour also offers a day relaxing in the soothing mineral waters of Harrison Hot Springs and sightseeing in Victoria and Vancouver. The tour leads in at £1,199 per person (excluding car hire) and includes return flights from London to Calgary, 13 nights accommodation in standard hotel rooms, ferry crossings for car and passengers, complete self drive kit with maps and itinerary and sightseeing information.

 

In Quebec, Prestige is featuring the “Splendid Nature of Quebec” self drive tour which takes in the vibrant cities of Montreal and Quebec as well as the scenic route of the Gaspe Peninsula through the provincial parks. The tour offers the chance to view caribou, moose, white tailed deer and whales and leads in at £950 per person (excluding car hire). The package includes return flights from London to Montreal, 14 nights accommodation in standard hotel rooms, a cruise on the St Lawrence River, complete self drive kit with maps and itinerary and sightseeing information.

 

The “Yukon and Alaska Explorer” self drive tour combines visits to Canada’s rugged Yukon with the dramatic scenery of Alaska. It offers the chance to marvel at one of nature’s greatest spectacles, the magical Northern Lights and learn more about the culture of the Inuit people.  Prices start from £1,770 per person (excluding car hire) including; return flights from London to Vancouver, internal flights to Whitehorse, 13 nights accommodation in standard hotel rooms, a full day’s wildlife viewing tour in Denali National Park, complete self drive kit with maps and itinerary and sightseeing information.
