23rd November 2009 Print

If you’ve always wanted to visit China, then next year is the year for you to do it as you will be able to also take in what will be a spectacular international event. The World Expo 2010 in Shanghai is estimated to attract over 70 million worldwide visitors, and China specialist Wendy Wu Tours is the only UK tour operator offering special packages to the exhibition.

Being held from 1 May to 31 October 2010, World Expo 2010 will cover a total area of 5.28 square km where the over 200 participating countries will showcase their ideas on the theme ‘Better City, Better Life’ in outstanding national pavilions (more event info at http://en.expo2010.cn).

Manuel Mascarenhas, managing director of Wendy Wu Tours says, “Once again, the windows of the world will be on China and the sheer spectacle of this international cultural event will be a real draw to UK visitors, especially as an add-on to a more traditional itinerary to the country, as the site will incorporate many features never before experienced on such a huge scale. For example, the UK pavilion will be a huge building covered in multi-coloured fibre-optics.”

Prices for an Expo Short Stay lead-in at £290pp for a three day/two night itinerary, which can be built around a selection of other short stay itineraries to selected regions of the country. The price includes an entrance ticket to the Expo, two nights bed and breakfast accommodation and transfers. An extra night in Shanghai to take in the Expo can also be added to many of Wendy Wu Tours’ fully inclusive escorted group tours, from £190pp.

Wendy Wu Tours is also offering a dedicated “China & Expo” 11 day private tour, which includes Shanghai, a day at the Expo, a Wuzhen day tour, Xian and Beijing. Priced from £2,180 per person to include nine nights hotel accommodation, selected meals, international flights, all domestic flights and transfers within China, entrance fees, taxes, local guides and visa fees for UK passport holders.
