NatWest and RBS provide help for Cumbrian flood victims
NatWest and RBS have announced a package of help for customers impacted by the flooding in Cumbria. Personal, business and insurance customers will receive enhanced financial and practical support to help them through the current difficulties.
Robin Bulloch, Managing Director for branch banking said: "The last few days have been devastating for many families and businesses and we will be doing everything we can to provide the required assistance to customers experiencing difficulty. In order to ensure we can provide further help with their banking needs, we have also redirected our mobile banks to areas where customers have restricted access to their branches or where branches are closed to enable them to continue their day to day banking."
The NatWest branch in Cockermouth remains open, and we have directed a mobile banking unit to Sainsbury's car park in Cockermouth to try and meet the required demand. In addition, whilst the NatWest branch in Workington (on the south side of the river) has not been affected and remains open, following consultation with the local authorities, we have also placed a mobile bank on the north side of the River Derwent.
Where appropriate, the support package will include:
Personal Customers
Temporary increases on existing overdraft limits will be considered on an individual basis, including short term support for mortgage and loan repayments
Bridging facilities for insurance claims
Credit Card customers should contact their cards centre using the number on their credit card
Business Customers
Temporary increases on existing overdrafts limits on an individual basis
Bridging facilities for insurance claims
Capital repayment holidays on existing loan facilities to allow cash to be retained for immediate use
RBS and NatWest personal and business customers are advised to contact their local branch or their relationship manager who will be able to provide the necessary advice and guidance.
Insurance Customers
Property Insurance Advisers are already on the ground in the worst affected areas
If you need to move to alternative accommodation, we will help to arrange this. The cost is normally covered under your insurance policy. This should be checked when speaking with the claims adviser
