airBaltic reports passenger growth at Riga base

Latvian airline airBaltic carried overall 207,106 passengers in November 2009 (from Riga, Vilnius and Tallin), representing 9% more than in the same month in 2008, when airBaltic transported 189,547 passengers.

In November of this year, the number of passengers at the base of airBaltic in Riga has increased by 24% compared to the same period last year.

During the eleven months of 2009, airBaltic transported a total of 2,541,353 passengers, some 6% more than during the same period in 2008, when the total number of passengers was 2,396,762.

In November, airBaltic operated 3,831 flights, or 1% fewer than the 3,884 flights of November 2008. Between January and the end of November, the airline operated 42,142 flights in all.

The airline’s load factor, which represents the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of available seats, increased to 65% points last month, or 7% points more than in November 2008. During the eleven months of 2009 airline’s passenger load factor was at a level of 69%, or 7% points more than during the same period in 2008.

The 15-minute flight punctuality indicator for airBaltic was at a level of 94.3% in November 2009. This means that more than 94 of every 100 airBaltic flights in November departed at the planned time or with a delay of no more than 15 minutes.
