Discover Victoria’s secrets

9th December 2009 Print

Not only is the state of Victoria in Australia the land of wild, wonderful and unique animals, but it is the filming location for soon to be released, 'Where The Wild Things Are'.

It is also where Bridge & Wickers has introduced a new tour, Victoria’s Secrets, as featured in their new Australia brochure. After five years in the making, the film adaptation of Maurice Sendak's beloved children’s book is to hit UK cinemas on Friday 11 December.

Victoria offered the best locations for the film from the city of Melbourne to the surrounding area, including the Mornington Peninsula, the Flinders Outback, Gembrook, Little River, Newport, Portland, Williamstown and Woodend. Providing the perfect backdrop to the film, giant creatures could stomp and smash away through a fantasy land. In reality, Australia is full of wildlife that thrill visitors worldwide. From koalas to echidnas, platypus and kangaroos, visitors can get up close to all sorts of creatures in their natural habitats.

Bridge & Wickers’ Victoria’s Secrets self-drive tour combines a stay in Melbourne, the world’s most liveable city, with the Great Ocean Road, famous for its iconic Twelve Apostles, the rugged rainforests and secluded fern gullies of the Otway National Park and Mornington Peninsula, famous for its fine food and wine.

Price: Bridge & Wickers' Victoria’s Secrets tour offers 5 nights’ accommodation on a room-only basis from £699pp including 4 days' car hire and arrival transfers.
