Assetz: Mortgage lending at 22 month high

Stuart Law, Chief Executive of Assetz, comments on the CML mortgage lending figures released today: "It is encouraging to see that mortgage lending has now reached a 22-month high, taking us back to the levels achieved in December 2007. A number of indices are now recording positive annual growth for UK house prices which has boosted the confidence of mortgage lenders and led to increased competitiveness of their deals. Lenders are now actively seeking business, and rates are set to improve further next year as the housing market recovery continues."
