Kauai – more accessible than ever

4th January 2010 Print

Kauai is considered by many to be one of the most special places on Earth. Only about four percent of the island is developed and the unspoiled beauty which dominates the senses has forever intrigued those fortunate people who visit the island.

Because of their location, terrain, weather, lush foliage and the legendary architects who have designed best-of rated courses on Kauai (Jack Nicklaus and Robert Trent Jones Jr. to name two), the golf destination and their affiliated resorts are regularly ranked among the world’s most coveted.

Puakea, Poipu Bay, Kauai Lagoons and Princeville combine to offer an array of scintillating golf options on Kauai. These award-winning golf properties combine with renowned resorts to offer ideal on- and off-course activities.

Poipu Bay with the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa, Kauai Lagoons with the Kauai Marriott Resort & Beach Club and Princeville Golf Courses with The St. Regis Princeville Resort feature acclaimed spas, restaurants, beaches and other amenities.

Thanks to newly announced transpacific flights, the golf-destination Kauai: Discover Golf’s Ultimate Island Green has never been easier to visit.

Last month WestJet Airlines began twice-weekly flights to Lihue Airport, Kauai (airport symbol: LIH) from Vancouver including introductory fares starting at $349. Furthermore, if the twice-weekly flights from Vancouver to Kauai don’t jibe with schedules, WestJet also has a dozen flights weekly from Vancouver to Honolulu. Inter-island flights on multiple airlines make the hop to Kauai easy and inexpensive.

“With the addition of this access from Canada we hope visitors will take advantage of the opportunity to come experience Kauai, our great golf and other destination attractions which offer something for everyone – from families and couples to outdoor enthusiasts,” says Sue Kanoho, Executive Director of the Kauai Visitors Bureau.
