Are you pondering over pony trekking through Lesotho, volunteering in South Africa or swimming with elephants in Zimbabwe? Now you can journey through Africa on the internet, with Acacia Africa’s "Go Wild Online" campaign featuring a selection of amazing African encounters across Twitter, Facebook and the tour operator’s blog.

Whether you want to research, converse or get actively involved in the adventure buzz, the choice is yours. There will also be a major prize giveaway and a discount voucher up for grabs, so dust off that backpack if you're feeling lucky and click on over to acacia-africa.com.

Looking to find out more? Here are three ways to "Go Wild Online" with Acacia Africa:

The Wild Bunch: Adventurers with a burning question on the continent can tweet with their own personal Africa guru, courtesy of "The Wild Bunch". Carefully selected from the tour operator's team and chosen for their total and unwavering addiction to the most adventurous continent on the planet, the aptly named experts are bound to have a few insider tips from the road.  Travellers can tweet Acacia Africa's pundits putting #AcaciaWildBunch ahead of their tweet.

Going In Search Of The South Africa "Wild Tweep": Acacia is aware that there are plenty of Africa addicts out there, so rather than do all the tweeting, they'll be asking one adventurer to pitch in and join the team on a virtual journey through South Africa. You can now apply to be Acacia Africa's "Wild Tweep," the lucky winner walking away with a 6-day African Insight overland safari.

Entrants will need to complete a brief Q&A (available on the Acacia Africa Facebook page and blog) and confirm their participation in a 20 minute "tweet up" to be held on Acacia Africa's twitter page on Friday 26 February from 13:00 to 13:20 GMT. The "Wild Tweep's" mission to share their love of the Rainbow Nation and answer questions on South Africa from the tour operator's tweeps. Completed Q&As, should be emailed to gowildonline@acacia-africa.com.

The six fun filled days on the continent will include Big Five game driving in the Kruger National Park. River cruising on the Chobe River and optional adrenaline activities at the Victoria Falls round off the bite-size overland tour.

Entries will be judged by Acacia Africa and some of the best Africa bloggers on the net including, AfricaFreak, Travelcomments.com and PlanYourSafari.  The competition will close on Friday 12 February, the winning "Wild Tweep" being announced on Friday 19 February 2010.

Retweet Acacia Africa's "Go wild Online" Campaign & Win: So everyone's a tweeter these days, but now adventurers have a real, bona fide reason to tweet like crazy.  The tour operator will be showcasing several "Go Wild Online" campaign videos on Twitter, Facebook and the Acacia Africa:Stuck On You blog from December through to the end of March -  each piece of footage giving travellers an insight into the company's tours.

Of course, online explorers can always trawl the net to find the videos, but if you want to be "in it to win it," then Acacia Africa suggest joining their twitter page. A random draw, virtual adventurers will need to retweet the campaign message: RT #GoWildOnline with Acacia Africa including the video link. The winning twitterer (to be announced at the end of March) taking away a 25% voucher for use on any of the tour operator's overland tours (closing date of competition Friday 26 March).

Terms and conditions for all prizes & giveaways are available on the tour operator's website.

Travellers can also take a virtual journey with Acacia Africa when they book - as the Africa specialist's new online reservations system is up and running.
