Residents and staff from Roseland Parc have handed over more than £500 to The Precious Lives Appeal, which is building a children’s hospice in St Austell.

The money was raised at the retirement village’s Christmas Fair which was bustling with residents, staff, family, friends and neighbours. A host of stalls from tombolas to jewellery and bric a brac helped boost the total raised.

The residents chose to pledge the money to The Precious Lives Appeal which is set to fund The Little Harbour Hospice. Work is due to start in Spring 2010. Representative Roger Clarke visited Roseland Parc in Tregony, near Truro to receive the cheque on behalf of the charity.

“Our residents are keen to see the incredible work which hospices do being made available in our area,” said Roseland Parc’s Duty Manager Lyndsay Libby. “With work due to start on the Little Harbour Hospice this year we know the money will come in useful.”
