Luxury lingerie and swimwear retailer Rigby & Peller is ready to set pulses racing with its retro inspired collection for Spring/Summer 2010.

Simple shapes will be prominent next year, with minimal detailing in satin and opaque fabrics for a truly sensual finish. The shape combination of the season will be the high-waisted brief with a chiffon ruffle strap balcony bra to finish off the “set du jour”.

Colours are all about nudes, soft shell pinks, blush, oyster grey and chalky whites that are creating an ethereal feel to the collection but still proving eminently wearable for Spring/Summer fashionistas.

“The high waisted brief is definitely going to dominate in 2010,” says Nicky Clayton, Rigby & Peller Creative Director. “The look has gathered momentum and the traditional control panties of old have enjoyed a sexy makeover. The new Rigby & Peller high waist brief still offers great control and comfort, but now feels and looks sexy, both front and back”.

“Key details in evidence are frills and ruffles,” she added “With gathering, pintucks and vintage buttons adding the extra glam element for the summer.”

Rigby & Peller swimwear is also set to be in a league of its own with Senior Buyer Mary McLeod proclaiming that “Olympian Goddess” with Grecian draping and “new age nautical” in vibrant indigo will be prominent themes for SS10.

“Draping is every girl’s best friend in swimwear. Not only does it give a glamorous finish but it draws the eye from and to particular areas. Our draped front swimsuit will give a more defined waist and help create a proportioned hour glass silhouette.”

Vibrant block colours such as fushia, purple, aqua and indigo will radiate this SS10. Rigby and Peller has teamed these shades with brushed metallic buttons and sequins, for an easy-to-wear hint of the precious metal trend.

“The maxi dress continues in strength in SS10. Our Bandeau maxi dress is such a flattering style as it draws attention to the shoulders, a key feature that should be maximised,” she explained. “The empire shape elongates the figure and the embellished band under the bust gives added support.”
