YHA Australia launches mobile website

19th January 2010 Print

YHA Australia has announced the launch of m.yha.com.au, a mobile version of the hostel network’s website. The site enables guests to quickly and securely make or review hostel bookings on their web-enabled mobile phones.

Mandy Monk, Head of European Marketing for YHA Australia, said “With recent developments in mobile phones, for many travelers, their phone is much more than a way to call home or ring friends. These days, mobile phones have become users’ cameras, music players and direct access to the internet.

“Websites that have been designed for traditional computer access can be very difficult to read and use so this development will make it so much easier for our guests to plan their trip and find out about their next Australian hostel.”

YHA Australia has 120 hostels located throughout the country including the new Sydney Harbour YHA that opened in November 2009 and provides the first budget accommodation in this iconic location. With around 250,000 British students each year travelling on a gap year and nearly as many pre-retirement gapers, the development of m.yha.com.au will make travelling simpler for many Brits adventuring around Australia.
