Brides across Britain will be helping celebrate the 125th anniversary of the first photograph of a snowflake, thanks to the re-appearance of CocoRose London’s gorgeous Spring Snowflake shoes for Spring/Summer 2010.

Spring Snowflake first launched on a limited basis in 2009, but proved so popular that the award-winning foldable flat shoe company has brought them back in time for the 2010 peak wedding season.

The lovely shoes are a bride’s fairy godmother, ensuring the leading lady doesn’t have to miss a thing on her wedding day, by avoiding the high heel agony that can make the first dance one too many.

Wilson “Snowflake” Bentley took the first photograph of a snowflake in 1885, saying, “I found that snowflakes were miracles of beauty and it seemed a shame that this beauty should not be seen and appreciated by others”.

The CocoRose London Spring Snowflakes follow this ethos, being divine, ivory satin ballerina pumps, adored not only by brides, but also by women wanting to wear a super-comfy, flat shoe bound to catch the eye.

The beautifully crafted ballerinas are folded inside a simply breathtaking purse finished with delicate lace and blissful beading. The whole little package makes a wonderful gift to the bride, or bridesmaids, but can also be an angel for any guest wishing to make their way through the whole day’s events without having to limp off due to aching feet.

Despite an aesthetic appeal that makes it a crying shame to hide them underneath a wedding gown, the shoes’ core purpose is to be at hand for whenever high heels start to cause pain. At that point, the purse can be unzipped, the shoes unfolded and a swap of footwear effected.

Once comfort is restored to the feet, the heels can be placed inside a satin carry bag found within the purse. This can be hung up in the cloakroom for the rest of the proceedings.

Spring Snowflake shoes, complete with purse, cost £35 and come in three sizes: Petite (UK shoe size 3-4) Regular (UK shoe size 5-6) and Grande (UK shoe size 7-8). All can be bought at cocoroselondon.com.
