Great Rail Journeys introduces Fly Rail holidays

27th January 2010 Print

Great Rail Journeys has introduced six new Fly Rail holidays to its 2010 programme.

“Of course 99 percent of our holidays within Europe start with a Eurostar journey from London’s St Pancras International station,” says marketing manager Richard Adams, “but recently a small though significant number of customers have asked us to consider fly rail holidays.”

The Fly Rail tours are adapted itineraries of popular European holidays, such as the eight-day three-centre ‘Lakes & Mountains of Switzerland’, with flights to and from Geneva and day excursions on mountain railways such as the Glacier Express and the GoldenPass Line.

Departures between May and October are offered with prices from £1,325 per person, twin share, including return flights, all travel within Switzerland, seven nights’ half board in four-star hotels, excursions and the services of a Tour Manager throughout.

“Flying to the Alps shortens the holiday by two nights,” says Adams, “and these new tours are aimed at those who have less time to spare but want to enjoy all the other aspects of a Great Rail Journeys holiday.”

Other Fly Rail tours include ‘The Italian Explorer’, ‘The Beauty of Andalucia’, ‘Berlin, Krakow & Prague’, ‘Fjords of Norway’ and ‘Arctic Circle Express’.
