2nd February 2010 Print

Hungary has been voted the best value destination for the second year running by the Post Office’s ‘Holiday Money’ Report - so if you are looking for an affordable Valentine’s getaway why not consider its beautiful capital city, Budapest.

The 4* Lánchíd 19 Hotel (lanchid19hotel.hu) situated on the Danube riverbank at the feet of the Buda Royal Castle was the first Hungarian member of Design Hotels - the international lifestyle brand - and its contemporary style stands out in a neighbourhood of predominately 19th century architecture.

The hotel is offering a special two-night Valentine package for EUR 264 that includes the following for two people:

- 2 night’s accommodation with buffet breakfast
- Love Potion on arrival
- Naughty Box* in the room
- An aphrodisiac dinner in the L19 restaurant (including a glass of champagne)
- A lazy check-out

Upgrade to a deluxe room from EUR 25 per night or one of the three fabulous Panorama suites with great views over the Danube for EUR 200 per night. This offer is valid between 12 and 15 February. Flights with Malev (malev.com) are from £204 per person flying from Gatwick over the Valentine’s weekend.

Travellers that want to visit Budapest up until the end of March can also take advantage of ‘free’ nights at more than 50 Budapest hotels this winter with the annual winter promotion for ‘three nights for two’ or ‘four nights for three’ up until the end of March. There is plenty to do in the city in winter including visiting the city’s many UNESCO world heritage sites, experiencing the lively nightlife, ice skating in the City Park, seeing a performance at the famous Hungarian State Opera and bathing in one of the many indoor and outdoor thermal spas dotted around the city.

* The ‘Naughty Box’ includes excitement gel for women, intimate moisturising lubricant, titillating massage oil, YESforLOV condoms & sexy poker coin.
