Narrowboat holidays in North Wales

24th February 2010 Print

Enjoy a boating holiday on the Llangollen Canal in North Wales during March and save 15% on short breaks or a week’s hire of selected narrowboats from the Chirk base courtesy of specialist boating holiday agency, Waterways Holidays.

As an example of what’s available, a week’s hire of ‘Dinas Bran’ or ‘Chirk’ – 58ft narrowboats sleeping six – is reduced to £629 (saving £111) for the weeks commencing 13 and 20 March.  For the week starting 27 March, the revised price is £740 (saving £130).

Or, for a larger group, the 10-berth ‘Arthur’ – a 70ft narrowboat - is reduced to £888 (saving £157) and £1033 (saving £182) respectively.

All prices include gas for cooking, TV, bed linen, towels and buoyancy aids.  Up to two well behaved pets are welcome at a supplement of £25 for each pet.  These boats have full central heating with radiators, TV/DVD and well equipped kitchen and are carpeted throughout – except kitchen and bathroom areas.

Cruising options from Chirk include crossing the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct – the "stream in the sky" spanning the Dee Valley – the walled city of Chester, the town of Llangollen with its steam railway and the market town of Ellesmere as well as travelling through wonderful scenery.
