Chatham Place, Muse Developments’ stunning collection of contemporary apartments and penthouses in the heart of Reading, has everything you would expect from a premiere luxury development – and one thing that perhaps you would not: a full concierge service.

Purchasers of the superbly finished apartments, which are setting new standards in the Reading property market, are also buying into the kind of lifestyle that celebrities experience at top hotels, thanks to Head Concierge Andrew Pirret and the team at Mainstay Residential. And with prices for the just-released final phase of one- and two-bedroom apartments ranging from £155,000 to £219,950, it need not cost a fortune to live like a star.

Andrew Pirret joined Chatham Place from the Four Seasons Hotels in London and Hampshire, where he was a VIP Butler catering to the needs of such celebrities as Lionel Richie, Tom Jones and Bill Gates. Andrew, 25, of Camberley, is there to help residents in any way he can, from providing train times and advising on local attractions to emptying bins and keeping the landscaped courtyard garden trim.

"Working at Chatham Place is very similar to my role at Four Seasons, since we offer the same high level of service," he says. "We are here for 12 hours a day, every day, helping residents with those day-to-day things to make life that bit easier: receiving deliveries, changing light bulbs, providing information and overseeing all maintenance issues.

"Having a concierge gives residents the peace of mind that someone is around while they are out at work. Chatham Place appeals to young buyers, many of whom work for big IT companies, such as Microsoft, Symantec and Oracle – the average age here is probably late-20s to early-30s. They work long hours, so time is important to them. It’s a great help to them to know that I’m around to let in the electrician, fix a leaky tap or arrange a cleaner."

Andrew assures constant security at all times, as well as a friendly face. But perhaps he is most useful when a new resident moves in: "I can get hold of someone to help with the unpacking, recommend a good decorator – even help hang the pictures," he says.

And with over 70 per cent of Chatham Place’s units already sold, he must be a busy man.

Chatham Place is Reading’s most exciting address. Its eye-catching design maximises light and space in each of the 211 apartments and penthouses, while its top-quality specification includes Sky satellite points and Villeroy & Boch sanitaryware. At Chatham Place, premium accommodation comes as standard.

Reading is the UK’s most dynamic growing town, outperforming any of England’s principal cities, including London, and positioning itself at the forefront of economic performance in the UK over the past decade. Several large British-owned corporations have offices or HQs in the town, including Symantec, Yell.com, Microsoft, Oracle, Sage, ING Direct, Cisco Systems and the Prudential.

Reading’s mainline railway station offers 25-minute services to London Paddington as well as connections to the West Country and Wales. The town is adjacent to the M4 motorway, which has three junctions leading into Reading. London Heathrow Airport is 30 miles away, with Gatwick 60 miles.
