Thanks to JCB, diesel engine technology has taken another giant leap forward

27th August 2006 Print
First, a diesel-engined car wins Le Mans, now one has driven at 350mph – it has truly been a landmark year for Rudolf Diesel’s invention of 1892, and for the future of energy efficient motorsport.

JCB are advertising their new World Land Speed Diesel record as ‘a great British achievement’, and how right they are. It has involved the collaboration of a number of Motorsport Valley’s top motorsport and performance engineering companies. These include MIA members Ricardo, who developed the two state-of-the-art JCB444-LSR engines that powered JCB Dieselmax into the history books, and Visioneering, who supplied the design and engineering capabilities.

Congratulations to JCB, Andy Green and the whole team involved in this momentous achievement.
