Motorsport Business Census confirms ongoing growth in exports from Motorsport Valley
According to the newly released MIA Business Census, motorsport companies increasingly recognise the value of overseas trade. The number involved in exporting motorsport goods and services has grown from just 56% of companies in 2002 to 75% in four years.Western Europe and the USA continue to be the primary export markets, but the number of companies selling to the Middle East for example, has risen from 6.6% to 10% in just 12 months.
Countries considered to offer the best growth potential are the USA, China and Germany. In recognition of this potential business for Motorsport Valley, the MIA runs annual UK TI-supported Business Development Visits to the USA, China, Japan and the Middle East.
Part of the census was devoted to establishing the perceived effectiveness of the MIA to its members, and it was rewarding that 23% felt it was significantly more effective than a year ago.
