Are pet owners getting the best insurance deals?

Price comparison sites have become very popular, especially since the recession hit in 2008. However Defaqto, an independent financial research company, is warning pet owners to "never buy pet insurance based on the premium alone".

Today sees the launch of two new pet insurance comparison tools that focus on cover. These new tools allow visitors to sort and compare insurance based on cover levels.

Alex King, owner of pet-insurance-comparison.net says "In my eyes there are two types of comparison sites that are ubiquitous and not necessarily useful. The first type is the price comparison site. The second type is the simple static table comparison with very little useful information. We don't fit into either type because we give a lot more information about the actual cover offered as well as providing tools which enables visitors to sort and compare policies themselves at the click of a button".

King explains further, "At pet-insurance-comparison.net we aim to add value in whatever we do. These new tools reflect that ethos. With up to 11 columns of data about each policy, they are the most comprehensive pet insurance comparison tools I have seen online".

The two tools currently available are for dog insurance and cat insurance.
