Ski instructor courses from Inside Out Skiing

29th March 2010 Print

This April Inside Out Skiing is introducing a professional development programme for skiers who wish to become ski instructors and junior race coaches.

The development programme will introduce skiers to the concepts of teaching and coaching, provide feedback on their skiing performance and prepare them for professional qualifications offered by the British Association of Snowsport Instructors (BASI).

Scott Pleva of Inside Out Skiing said "we see a clear need to support recreational skiers who want to undertake professional ski qualifications but are unsure of their abilities or the process of becoming qualified".

Inside Out Skiing will offer day-long Instructor Development and Coach Development clinics at The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead.  Each clinic will include personal instruction and extensive video feedback tailored to the requirements of BASI's instructor and coach qualification pathways.  In addition to Inside Out Skiing's regular team of instructors the professional development clinics will include input from top rank instructor-examiners and race coaches.  Demand for this new professional development programme is very high, and the clinics in April and May are already fully booked.

Rob Rees of Inside Out Skiing said "we are delighted to be working with Pete Gillespie, Head of the Snowpsort School at The Snow Centre, and with Ross Green, Head of Coaching Development for BASI, as we introduce this new development programme.  Both are world class instructors and coaches and will ensure we provide a great service to aspiring professionals in the ski industry".
