THE GO MODERN GARDEN (STAND RHW45)
Jamie Dunstan’s Go Modern Garden Extract from … Jamie Dunstan’s 2009 Chelsea Garden RHS Chelsea 2010 The Go Modern Garden by Gardener’s Boutique has been designed by Jamie to create an informal area to relax, whilst surrounded by scented Mediterranean plants. These plants prefer a light, free-draining soil - the exact opposite of the conditions present within the garden. To enable planting of this nature, Jamie has designed a raised area, which will be built using natural stone and free-draining soil. Uniquely, Jamie will use an aggregate type of gravel, created from recycled sinks and loos, which will give the garden its eco focus. An outdoor fireplace will be situated as a focal point with Go Modern’s contemporary furniture surrounding it.
The boundaries will be made from woven oak fencing, which will be softened by Silver Birch planted in rusty steel containers. A sloping oak walkway will lead visitors through the silver birch providing access to the raised seating area featuring Go Modern’s Clover chairs. The remaining planting will consist of plants that like moist conditions, such as Persicaria Red Dragon, Rodgersia and Podophyllum. A polished stainless steel centre piece will chime with the contemporary nature of Go Modern’s design ethos whilst uniting all the elements of this remarkable garden.
