Wizz Air simplifies baggage rules

7th April 2010 Print

Wizz Air has simplified its baggage rules. From 1 April Wizz Air eliminates the excess weight fees and makes booking even easier. The airline will apply a single fee for a piece of checked-in baggage regardless of the weight (up to 32 kg per baggage).

The fee will be EUR 15/bag if purchased at the time of booking and EUR 30 if paid at the airport. Passengers should be aware that the allowance for carry-on luggage does not change. Wizz Air will be strictly applying a EUR 60 fee for oversized/overweight hand luggage at the gate and these bags will have to be checked in.

In its efforts to make travel experience even more efficient, Wizz Air has rolled out web check-in to most of its airports, free of charge. As it was announced earlier, in case of bookings made after 1 April Wizz Air will start charging for airport check-in, which will be EUR 5 if purchased at the time of booking and EUR 10 if purchased at the airport.
