Themed UK short breaks from CV Travel
CV Travel has introduced a new range of luxury short breaks at `The Barn’, a magnificent, heavily beamed Cotswold stone barn close to Chipping Camden.
The inclusive two night / three day breaks are for groups of up to ten guests and include all meals, dinners with wine, and instruction in a range of activities, from cigar making and selecting, to appreciating perfume, Indian cookery to a day’s game gastronomy and a poker master-class.
Girls Allowed
Mid-week breaks of two nights, three days, ideal for girly groups, mother and daughter holidays and pre-wedding parties. The break starts with a tour of the beautiful house and gardens and a wine tasting and gourmet meal. A full day is spent learning the techniques of Indian cookery with author Vicky Bhogal, culminating in a champagne reception and Indian dinner. The final day is spent learning the art of perfumery, its history and the intricacies of blending fragrances, with perfume expert Bella Crane. Cakes & Champagne
For friends and couples The Barn’s `cakes and champagne’ short break combines cake-making with champagne appreciation. A champagne tasting marks a welcome early evening arrival at The Barn, hosted by the exclusive Henriot Champagne House, accompanied by canapés, followed by a gourmet dinner with wines. Guests wake up to a continental breakfast, followed by a day’s cake making master class with cake-guru Peggy Porschen, baking and decorating cakes, biscuits, cookies and learning sugar craft and top tips for baking. The final day starts with tennis or a country walk, and concludes with a traditional home cooked roast lunch. Gentleman’s Relish
For gentlemen only The Barn is offering exclusive two night breaks, focusing on the manly arts of preparing and cooking game, selecting and smoking cigars and concluding with a poker master class. Guests are welcomed early evening with aperitifs and a gourmet dinner with selected wines, followed by a cigar master class with expert Simon Chase. A full English breakfast sets guests up for a day of game cookery with Mike Robinson, a connoisseur on all things game related. The day’s gastronomy is served for dinner, with wines, followed by a poker class and tournament with former national player, Simon Stocken. Brunch, Bloody Mary’s and newspapers concludes the morning of the final day. The inclusive three day break costs £699 per person, based on 10 sharing and runs from Tuesday to Thursday.
