Popular Barford pub to host talent contest

With the start of ITV’s highly successful “Britain’s Got Talent”, the Granville @ Barford is to host its very own version. ‘Barford's Got Talent’ will take place at the award winning dining pub on Sunday 25 April at 8pm with the aim of finding the most talented local people.
Several acts have signed up including the Granville’s very own landlady, Val Kersey. The best acts, chosen from a team of four judges, will go through to the Barford’s Got Talent Grand Finale on Sunday 2 May at 8pm. The winner of the contest will receive a meal voucher at The Granville for £50 plus a bottle of Champagne. Prizes will also be awarded for the 2nd and 3rd place.
Money raised from the competition will go towards “Lupus West Midlands”, the national charity for people with the incurable immune system illness. Over 5 million people worldwide have lupus of which 50,000 people have the disease in the UK. To date the Granville has raised over £3,000 for its nominated charity.
Val Kersey, Proprietor, stated “We’re delighted to be hosting our very own talent contest. I’m sure there are plenty of villagers keen to impress us with their talent. Thankfully the judges won’t be quite as harsh as Simon Cowell. The evening promises to be great fun and you never know, we may even find our very own Susan Boyle!”
The Granville @ Barford is situated 1 mile from the M40 at junction 15 on the A429 sign-posted to Stow-on-the-Wold. Visit the website at granvillebarford.co.uk for further information.
