Cornbury Festival confirms line-up
The final performers at the 2010 Cornbury Festival have been confirmed. They include Angus and Julia Stone, Joshua Radin, Fisherman’s Friends, Seth Lakeman, Lucinda Belle Orchestra, Ben Montague, Jon Allen and Danny and the Champions of the World.
These acclaimed artists will play at Cornbury Festival on July 3 – 4 in Charlbury, Oxfordshire, alongside headliners David Gray and Jackson Browne. Other previously announced artists include Noisettes, Imelda May, The Feeling, Candi Staton, The Blockheads, Reef, Tiffany Page, Dr John, Newton Faulkener, Squeeze, Buddy Guy, Loyd Grossman’s New Forbidden, Kathryn Tickell and a special performance by Staxs featuring Kiki Dee and Louise Marshall.
Dubbed “Poshstock”, the two-day Cornbury Festival offers a family-friendly chic-boutique festival experience showcasing an eclectic mix of legendary performers and up-and-coming raw talent. The eccentric, charming and irresistible two-day Cornbury Festival is now in its seventh year. It is a homespun melting pot where music-lovers share gourmet pies and a glass of vintage champagne with aristocrats and rockers, fashionistas and farmers, celebrities and cake-baking local ladies.
Highly regarded Australian brother and sister folk duo Angus and Julia Stone, are to play on Sunday July 4th. They will perform alongside the recent British success story Lucinda Belle, who has just signed with Island Records after being discovered whilst working as a backing vocalist and harpist for Robbie Williams.
American singer songwriter Joshua Radin makes his Cornbury Festival debut on Saturday July 3rd. Radin’s career was given a kick-start by Scrubs star Zach Braff who pushed Radin to record a number of his songs for use on the hit sitcom. His melodic songs have since appeared on countless films and TV series helping him to become a word-of-mouth global success story.
Fisherman’s Friends take to the Cornbury Folk Stage on Sunday 4th July. The ten-strong Cornish fishermen recently shot to fame by being the oldest boy band to land a record deal with Universal.The Port Isaac fisherman have been singing sea shanties together for over fifteen years, and were signed after being spotted by a record producer on holiday. Their performance at Cornbury Festival will be one of their first public performances since their record deal was announced in March.
Folk hero Seth Lakeman makes a welcome return to Cornbury shortly after the release of his forthcoming album, Hearts and Minds. The Mercury Music Prize nominated British star will play on Sunday 4th July, bringing his unique blend of fiddle, acoustic guitar and unmistakable vocals back to Cornbury Festival.
