Motorcycle stunts set to wow crowds at the NEC bike show

8th September 2006 Print
The organisers of the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show 2006 have revealed information about the Thunderdome Games Arena, a live action stunt show set to feature a theatrical urban setting and some of the best stunt riders in the world. The newest addition to the NEC Bike Show, which takes place in Birmingham from 27th October to 5th November, the Thunderdome Games Arena will be a live spectator show, performed up to four times a day.

Visitors will be stunned by a stream of spectacular manoeuvres performed by highly trained stunt riders and set against a post-apocalyptic backdrop. The riders will perform a sequence of motorbike stunts during the 30 minute show, including Freestyle FMX, Quad Bike Stunts and Road Bike Stunts. In-line skater and stunt fighters will add agility and drama into the mix which will lead up to the finale of the Thunderdome spectacular, involving a 16 foot metal cage in which highly trained and fearless, multiple riders perform precision stunts and heart stopping manoeuvres.

The stars of the show, all of whom are professional stunt riders, will wow the crowds and get into character as two rival gangs. The Chrome Scorpions and the Urban Metal Vipers compete against one another as part of a rival underground showdown, observed and adjudicated by an imposing character named ‘The Judge’, played by WWF wrestler ‘The Dominator’.

The International Motorcycle and Scooter Show 2006 will host the Thunderdome Games four times a day at the weekend and three times a day on weekdays, in an arena within the show. Adult tickets are priced at £4 and £2 for children and will be available to purchase at the show. A discounted rate of £3 per adult ticket will apply on production of a printable voucher which is available online at www.motorcycleshow.co.uk.

Managing Director of MCI Exhibitions, Finlay McAllan commented, ‘I am delighted to be able to announce the Thunderdome Games Arena as a brand new feature at the show. It’s destined to be one of the highlights and will provide the audience with 30 minutes of high energy entertainment like nothing they’ve seen before. The set design and theme concepts alone are really awesome, coupled with some of the best stunt riders in the business, this will be a spectacle not to be missed!’
