Luxury boating breaks in Marlow

The four-star Macdonald Compleat Angler, which is idyllically set beside the River Thames at Marlow, Buckinghamshire, is offering luxury dinner B&B boating breaks from now until 31st October 2010.

During their stay, guests can discover the tranquil art of boating aboard the hotel’s skippered Edwardian launch, Silent Waters, as they cruise along the upper Thames, while sipping champagne and enjoying the historic views.

In the evening they can dine by candlelight in the two AA rosette Bowaters restaurant, which offers imaginative British cuisine in a relaxed and informal riverside setting, or put their £30 per person dinner allocation towards a meal in the hotel’s second award-winning restaurant, ‘Aubergine at The Compleat Angler’. Sister to the Michelin-starred Aubergine in London’s Chelsea, it offers outstanding modern French cuisine.

Dating back to the 17th century, the Compleat Angler takes its name from Isaak Walton’s world-famous book on angling. Most of the 64 rooms and suites have lovely river views while others are within sight and sound of cascading water over Marlow Weir. The hotel is perfectly placed for walking by the river, golfing, fishing, boutique shopping and exploring royal history in nearby Windsor and Henley.

Boating Breaks at the Compleat Angler including dinner B&B and a one-hour boat trip on the Thames with a bottle of Champagne start from £289 for two sharing a classic double/twin room per night.

There is a £30 per room supplement for Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. For details visit: MacdonaldHotels.co.uk/CompleatAngler
