National Allergy Week

11-15th May is National Allergy Week and with a recent Mintel survey revealing that 21 million Britons have an allergy, it's an important event that highlights the misery that many people face as a result of their condition.
Twenty percent of the UK population suffers with hay fever and it is estimated that by 2060 half the UK population could get hay fever.
According to the National Pollen and Aerobiology Research Unit the bitter winter temperatures that we have had, will encourage birch trees to pollinate early.
The changing climate in Britain could mean an increase in year-round problems for hay fever sufferers, so watch out for your hay fever symptoms as they could start earlier than the year before. A quarter of young people between the ages of 11-21 suffer with hay fever and it is thought hay fever could be responsible for a drop of at least one grade in examinations.
