Ben Spink a young farmer from Lincolnshire is attempting to drive from John O’Groats to Lands End starting on the 12th May 2010 in aid of Kidney Research UK.

Imperial Commercials, the largest Independent Commercial Vehicle dealer group in the UK, are supplying a Ford Ranger as the Support Vehicle for the trip. Becky Gallimore from Imperial Commercials says: “ We are pleased to be supporting Ben and his friends on their fundraising Tractor Drive and couldn’t be more happy to help such a worthwhile cause”.

Ben suffers from Alport Syndrome, a degenerative disease of the Kidney and in April last year he got the call he had been waiting for, a suitable transplant match had been found. Now a year on Ben is able to live a full and active life, back to work and enjoying the life a 24 year young man should! Ben intends on raising the awareness of the prevalence of kidney disease in the UK and show the transformation a transplant can have on an individual’s life.

Imperial Commercials is the new Ford Commercial Vehicle dealer for North and North East Lincolnshire and are proud to be supporting this fundraiser for such a worthy cause.

Dave Hastings, Sales Manager for Imperial Commercials Ford in Grimsby says: “We hope that Ben’s hard work and enterprising fundraising idea will reap as much sponsorship money as possible and we are so pleased to be involved in what will inevitably turn out to be a mammoth journey!”
