GMA celebrate silver jubilee with new Volvo Trucks

Ipswich-based GMA Warehousing and Transport have established a new venture in Felixstowe and have put a dozen new Volvo FH-460s on the road to mark the launch.
GMA are already one of East Anglia’s best-known warehousing specialists operating throughout the UK, and are a Volvo operator of 25 years standing.
The new company, GMA Trading Ltd., will be focusing on short sea trailer work and deep sea container business. They are investing in top-spec Volvos at their new Felixstowe base and will be taking ten of the new FHs, while two will go to work at GMA in Ipswich.
The FH 460 6x2 artics are driver-focused and have been ordered with Globetrotter XL cabs, the ‘Drive+’ trim level and the ‘1 bed+’ living package. Complete with Volvo’s celebrated I-Shift automated gearbox, they will be a driver’s dream.
The D13C460 engine is ideal for long-haul operations and with 2,300Nm on tap, drivers are able to use the high torque at low revs for real hill climbing ability and make the most of every drop of fuel.
GMA Trading’s director, Robin Hatt said, “We’ve looked after the drivers for sure, but we’ve paid very close attention to operating costs too by adding the Volvo Dynafleet telematics system. I’ve had experience of Dynafleet before. It’s a really valuable tool and the latest version is very user-friendly”.
Supplied by Volvo Truck and Bus Centre East Anglia at Felixstowe, the new trucks went on the road in early April.
