Eastern Airways launches Sunday service to Teesside
A new Sunday service from Southampton Airport to Durham Tees Valley in north east England is being launched by Eastern Airways as it expands the route to offer passengers even more choice.
The UK regional airline will introduce the new service from Sunday 6 June 2010, which will complement its existing two flights each weekday to Durham Tees Valley Airport.
Eastern Airways’ Sunday flights will benefit business travellers heading to the Teesside region of north east England ready for an early start on a Monday, as well as visiting weekend leisure passengers.
Sunday services will depart from Southampton at 7pm, landing in Durham Tees Valley at 8.05pm. Flights leave Durham Tees Valley at 5.25pm, arriving in Southampton at 6.30pm.
Roger Hage, Eastern Airways’ ground operations manager, said: “We’re expanding our route between Southampton and Durham Tees Valley to offer business and leisure travellers even greater choice and flexibility with a Sunday service.
“The convenient Sunday service will not only appeal to leisure travellers visiting the north east of England, but also those travelling on business ready for a Monday morning start.”

The flight offers greater flexibility for those linking between the south and the north east of England. Whether travelling on leisure to explore the region or flying on business to the key cities of the north, there really is something for everyone.”
Although Eastern Airways has been operating from Southampton for seven years, the services between Southampton and Durham Tees Valley were introduced in November 2009, providing commuters with the option of a day return trip.
Durham Tees Valley Airport is the gateway to Middlesbrough, Darlington, Stockton on Tees, Hartlepool, Durham and the North York Moors.
Passengers flying with Eastern Airways are offered fast check-in, a fast track security channel at Southampton, no charge for baggage, choice of seat or onboard drinks and snacks. Fares to Durham Tees Valley start from £82 one way, including taxes and charges.
