Lawrence Cronin is looking forward to life at Kings Park

Lawrence Cronin loved the ‘Hawthorn’ showhome at Taylor Wimpey’s Kings Park development so much, he’s recreated the interior in his brand new home.

The 70-year-old has snapped up his own three-bedroom ‘Hawthorn’ at the leading housebuilder’s brand new development in Cippenham, Berkshire, after being inspired by the showhome’s fabulous design and styling.

Lawrence says: “I was so taken by the showhome and how it looked inside, I tried to get my house as near to it as possible, choosing the same carpets and most of the same fixtures and fittings - I just can’t wait to move in now.

“The ‘Hawthorn’ is a lovely house, it has everything you need. I have opted to have a conservatory on mine, but with a fabulous top-floor suite, there’s nothing you need to do to it. It’s a complete home.”

The interior of the sumptuous three-bedroom ‘Hawthorn’ showhome features an appealing teal blue colour scheme that really struck a chord with house-hunter Lawrence.

Enjoying generous accommodation laid out across three floors, this semi-detached house benefits from a spacious living room with French doors leading out to the private rear garden, a separate contemporary kitchen/dining room and a handy guest cloakroom off the entrance hallway.

Upstairs, the first-floor landing leads to two well-proportioned bedrooms and a main bathroom, while the magnificent master bedroom with en-suite shower room occupies the entire top floor.

It’s not just the layout and ambiance of the ‘Hawthorn’ which appeals to Lawrence, he’s also impressed with its green credentials.

“I am having solar panels in the roof, which will keep the heating costs down, and in the garden there will be a water butt and composter,” he says. “So I feel like I’m doing my bit for the environment.”

While the ‘Hawthorn’ means Lawrence has found his perfect home, he’s also in the perfect location.

He relocated to Cippenham last year, after spending most of his life in Kent, to be nearer his daughter and son-in-law, Helen and David, and their two children.

Lawrence, who runs LBCS Ltd which provides consultancy services in metrology, inspection, quality assurance and measurement accreditation, said: “I’ve been coming to the area for 10 years now and feel totally at home here.

“Helen and David’s house is a short walk from Kings Park, which is ever so handy as I need to be on hand to pick up my two grandchildren from school when needed.

“Helen’s a teacher at a local school here and, after spending a lot of time visiting over the years, I can say it’s a lovely area with everything you need. I’m just thrilled to have found the right house, in the right area, and very grateful for the help I received from Taylor Wimpey’s staff”

House-hunters can discover why Lawrence was bowled over by Kings Park, by visiting the ‘Hawthorn’ and four-bedroom ‘Knightwood’ showhomes today.

Property-seekers can also find out about the superb range of two-bedroom apartments, available from just £184,995, and the full choice of four-bedroom houses priced from only £294,995.

All new homes at Kings Park are completed to a high standard specification, including central heating, double glazing and fitted kitchen with integrated oven, hob and hood.

And to make choosing a property at this popular development even more appealing, Taylor Wimpey offers a range of incentives including help with deposits for first-time buyers and assistance with finding a purchaser for those with a property to sell.

Incentives can be tailored to customers’ individual circumstances and are subject to availability, with further information available from the Sales Executive.

Built on the site of the former Western House School in leafy Cippenham, Kings Park enjoys a spacious layout amid carefully landscaped grounds – as well as all the advantages of a well-serviced community benefiting from excellent commuter links.

The host of everyday local amenities located within easy reach include shops, a supermarket, a leisure centre with swimming pool and gym, plus a good choice of primary and secondary schools.

Slough town centre is just over a mile away and offers a wide selection of high street and independent shops, the Queensmere Observatory shopping centre, restaurants, pubs, clubs, cinemas, sports facilities and entertainment venues.

For commuters, junction 7 of the M4 is just a mile and a half from the development while Burnham railway station, which offers regular services to London Paddington in little over half an hour, is just a short walk away. Those travelling further afield will also appreciate that Heathrow Airport is just 11 miles from Kings Park.
