Halfords Tour Series cycles into action

The 2010 Halfords Tour Series raced into action this week in London, ahead of the Tour of Britain cycling event in September. Once again, Honda (UK) is proud to be the official automotive partner of both events.
Over the next five weeks, cycling teams from Britain and Ireland will compete in 11 city centre races across the UK. Round One saw the riders do battle beneath the office towers of Canary Wharf, as they tackled a 1km circuit at the heart of the world-famous business and shopping district.
World Champion cyclist and ambassador for Honda, Ed Clancy, is competing in the series as part of the Motorpoint Marshalls Pasta team. Motoring enthusiast Ed will drive to each race in a new Championship White Civic Type R.
At all of the Tour Series events, Honda’s new CR-Z hybrid will help officials perform the final safety checks on the track, prior to the race starting.
In addition, the Tour Series organisers are driving a fleet of 15 Honda CR-Vs around the country.
Halfords Tour Series Technical Director, Mick Bennett, says: "We're full of anticipation for this year's Halfords Tour Series. Each city centre course presents a different test for the cyclists so we are expecting a closely fought battle for the top spots.
"There is a great deal of organisation that goes into the event and the team is thrilled to have Honda as the car sponsor this year, making the journey between each venue as comfortable and smooth as possible."
Highlights of every round of The Halfords Tour Series will be shown after each race on ITV4. For more information on all of the Tour Series events, go to honda.co.uk/TOB.
