Alfresco World Cup viewing in Edinburgh

4th June 2010 Print

An irresistible combination of sunny weather and alfresco sport viewing on huge outdoor screens at Edinburgh's 'The Three Sisters' pub looks set to make this year’s World Cup matches the most exciting yet.

Football fans are invited to soak up the atmosphere and the rays while enjoying high quality South African Boerwors sausages sizzling on the bbq and ice-cold specialised beers from across the world.

Even if the weather turns, fans can still enjoy unrivalled viewing indoors on two 3D, seven plasma, and two projection screens, plus the two 42" LCD screens and two projection screens outside in the courtyard. The LCD screens have been specifically selected as they have a plastic screen, therefore reflecting fewer glares from the sun, as supposed to glass screens used on plasma TVs.

To add to the atmosphere there will be a nation themed party for each match, everything from free sombreros at Mexico games to a full Samba band for the Brazil V Ivory Coast game on Sunday 20 June.

Dónal Hurrell, The Three Sisters general manager, says: “The combination of good weather and World Cup fever looks set to make this a record-breaking summer for us and we look forward to welcoming football fans of all nationalities as they get into the party spirit.”

Iain Pert of Festival Inns, which owns The Three Sisters, says: “We are confident that everything is in place to ensure that The Three Sisters really is the best place in Edinburgh to watch the World Cup."
