England fans snap up Limited Edition Travelex cards
With only a fortnight remaining until kick off in South Africa, fans following England on the road to glory are snapping up Travelex’s Limited Edition 2010 FIFA World Cup Visa Cash Passport.
The leading foreign exchange specialist reports sales of the cards, available in South African Rand and British Pounds, are currently averaging 50 per day, although Director Mark Horgan advises fans to get in quick as demand increases in the lead up to England first match against the US on June 12.
"We’re expecting sales to reach a peak of 500 cards per day over the next fortnight and in the lead-up to each of the England Group matches. Most people heading out there won’t have left yet, so we suggest fans keen to get their hands on one get in quick before it’s too late.
"Value is still a big theme for Brits heading abroad. Year on year, the value of the Pound has dropped nearly 15% against the South African Rand, meaning fans will have to budget carefully. The rates can fluctuate a great deal as well. While fans are 870 Rand worse off than a year ago when exchanging £500 - they would be down 175 Rand just compared to this time last week*.
"Fans wanting to get the best value for money should shop online at travelex.co.uk and take advantage of our Price Promise. By ordering a Cash Passport, fans can lock in their rate at each load or reload, as well as benefiting from safe secure spending. The cards are also free from fees on purchase transactions and ATM withdrawals**."
*Rates from travelex.co.uk correct as at 11am on Friday, 28 May
