Chadderton family build a future with Redrow
Davina Shaw and Ryan Yates are looking forward to building a future as a family in their new Redrow home at Spinners Mews, in Chadderton, near Oldham.
Davina explained: “We’ve always lived in Chadderton and because we like the area wanted to stay local. We were renting a two-bedroom terrace but wanted somewhere of our own. We initially looked at two-bedroom homes but realised we could afford a three-bedroom property at Spinners Mews.
“Our mortgage repayments are less than we were paying in rent so we’re better off and there’s more freedom to change things or decorate when it’s your own home,”
The family were the very first people to move into Spinners Mews and for two weeks were its only residents. They’ve watched with interest as their neighbours have moved in around them and have also welcomed an addition to their family, Eve-Violet, the first baby to be born at Spinners Mews.
As Davina has a son Kieran, 13, from a previous relationship, the extra bedroom in their new home has given the family the space they need to grow.
And because Davina and Ryan bought their home while it was still under construction they were able to put their stamp on the property from day one.
“When we reserved the house it was only seven or eight bricks high so we had the chance to see it being built and watch the progress. It was good to be able to see the transformation and because it was an empty shell we’ve been able to choose the kitchen and bathroom designs. Everything’s exactly how we want it and we didn’t have to live with someone else’s tastes,” Davina said.
