Copenhagen culture offers UK travellers value for money

According to Post Office Travel Money research, Copenhagen’s top heritage attractions offer extremely good value for UK visitors’ travel money in comparison to other city destinations across Europe.

For example, the Post Office Travel Money research revealed that the price of entry to Rosenborg Castle in the Danish capital equated to nearly half the price of entry to London’s Buckingham Palace State Rooms. Travel money-savvy UK travellers can get twice as much value for their travel money when visiting Copenhagen’s top heritage attraction for only £9.60 in comparison to London’s £17 charge.

Post Office Travel Money also revealed Copenhagen is one of few European destinations to offer free entry to all top museums and art galleries, as recommended by Copenhagen’s tourist office. Post Office Travel Money recommends that UK travellers plan their holidays in advance and research any costs that may impact the amount of foreign currency needed for city breaks. By planning ahead, holidaymakers can make sure they get the best value from their travel money on typical holiday essentials such as hotels, meals and tourist attractions.

Sarah Munro, Post Office Head of Travel Money, said: “We found big price differences between cities and in cash-strapped times tourists can make their travel money stretch further by picking one of Europe’s cheaper capitals.”
