Winners will take it all at summer Abba spectacular
Organisers of a spectacular summer concert celebrating the hits of super group Abba are expecting a sell-out for the musical extravaganza in Surrey.
The open-air event in July is being staged at Mercedes-Benz World, the brand experience centre near Weybridge, in Surrey, which is fast becoming one of the country’s most appealing new concert venues. The aim is to offer concert-goers a true “party in the park” atmosphere with pre-event picnics and a fantastic firework finale. Fans will not only be encouraged to sing along to hits such as Waterloo, Mamma Mia and Dancing Queen, but to join in the spirit of the event by dressing up as Agnetha, Anni-Frid, Benny or Björn.
The “Abba Symphonic Spectacular” is taking place on the evening of Saturday July 31st with music from pop classic specialists, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. The BSO, conducted by Pete Harrison, are making a welcome return to Mercedes-Benz World after their highly successful appearance at the venue last year. They will be playing some of Abba’s most popular anthems supported by guests singers, X Factor’s Annie Skates, West End stars Emma Kershaw and Dean Collinson, and singing sensation Lance Ellington, son of jazz bandleader Ray Ellington.
The outdoor atmosphere at the concert will be heightened by special lighting effects and a firework finale featuring specially choreographed fire fountains never seen before in the UK.
